Nurses urged to be civil and humane

Akim-Oda (E/R), April 10, GNA – The Akim Oda branch of the Ghana Nurses and Midwife Trainees Association has launched its 55th anniversary with a call to health professionals to be more civil and humane in the performance of their duties.

Mr. Prince Bentil Ninson, its President, said it was important they showed high standards of professionalism, respect and empathy for the sick.

“The role of nurses in modern day health delivery” is the theme chosen for the anniversary.

Activities, the association, has lined up to mark the occasion include, breast cancer screening, talent show, health walk, blood donation and awards night.

This year’s event coincided with the Students Representative Council (SRC) week celebration of the Akim-Oda Community Health Nurses Training.

Mr. Ninson reminded the nurses to ensure total commitment and passion for the job of helping to save lives and bring relief to those in pain.
